WindInfo (992-WIND) is a voice reporting system that allows people to retrieve wind speed, wind direction and water level information from several TCOON tide gauges in the Corpus Christi area. This system utilizes the existing data collection and storage infrastructure of TCOON and the ability to contact TCOON tide gauges via radio in real-time (typically every 12 minutes). When a telephone call is received, the database is queried for the latest information, then prerecorded voice messages are concatenated and played through the voice modem.
